We all have our time machines. Some take us back, they’re called memories. Some take us forward, they’re called dreams.

This world has its own memories. World in this decade ( 2011- 2020 ) started with the death of the mastermind of numerous terrorist attacks “ OSAMA BIN LADEN (1957-2011) ” who was shot dead by United States Navy seals in Pakistan.

A series of terrorist attacks occur in Paris where as Turkey and Russia intervene in the Syrian Civil War in 2015. 

ISIL claims responsibility for the Kobanî massacre in Syria, the Sousse attacks in Tunisia, a mosque bombing in Kuwait, the Suruç bombing in Turkey, multiple bombings in Beirut and a massacre in Paris, as well as the bombing of a Russian Airliner over Egypt. They also inspire a mass shooting in San Bernardino, California in 2015 as well in 2016, ISIL claims responsibility for a series of bombings in Brussels, a massacre at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport and car ramming attacks in Nice and Berlin. 

In 2017, A terrorist bombing attack happened at Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England kills 22 people and injures over 500.

In 2019, India revokes the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. 

In 2020, China and India engage in border skirmishes, the largest escalation between the two powers in 50 years

Despite all these the 21st century has been more peaceful

• Obama wins second term as President of the United States, defeating former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. 2012 and then in 2016 Donald Trump replaced him and was elected President of the United States. And in 2019 Joe biden replaced Donald trump.
• In 2014, Narendra modi became the prime minister of INDIA and still continuing to serve the country.
• former Soviet Union countries form the Eurasian Economic Union.2015
• 195 nations agree to lower carbon emissions
• This decade INDIA won it's 2nd ODI world cup lead by MAHENDRA SINGH DHONI (07) after 28yrs in 2011 defeating sri-lanka. And even ENGLAND won it's 1st ever ODI world cup lead by Eoin Morgan in 2019 beating NEW ZEALAND.

In the 21st century, democracies have overtaken autocracies

Across the world, children are now more protected against diseases

% of one-year-old immunized against a disease or a pathogen

But this decade took some of the amazing gems from the world.

Like Stephen Hawking, APJ Abdul Kalam, Atal Bihari vajpayee, Stan Lee, Paul walker, Steve jobs, Irfan khan, sushant Singh rajput, Muhammad Ali, Chadwick Boseman and many beautiful souls.

In this 10 years the world has dominated in every sector. It improvised  itself. But it also faced several threats like earthquakes (A series of earthquakes in the Himalayas kills over 10,000 people, in 2015. ), tsunami, cyclone (Cyclone Amphan becomes the costiest cyclone ever recorded in the Northern Indian Ocean in 2020) and the worst Ebola epidemic in recorded history

occurs in West Africa in 2014, infecting nearly 30,000 people and resulting in deaths of 11,000+ and currently, world is facing with covid 19 ( the infectious disease caused by most recently discovered coronavirus ).

It was discovered in 2019 and originated from Wuhan, China (whereas china is not ready to accept the fault and keeps blaming different countries for outbreak of covid-19). Due to covid-19 people didn't just had health issue, they faced lockdown which caused increase in unemployment. By the end 2020 scientists found the vaccines but many places confirm that covid-19 got it's own new variants.

The COVID-19 pandemic claims 1.8 million lives and infects at least 83 million people worldwide. 

BUT this decade was great for technologies and space.

 

Technologies like Google assistant, crispr, SpaceX's reusable rocket, iPad, the self driving car consumer LED Light Bulb, Tesla power wall and many more amazingly awesome tech were invented this decade.

Access to internet took off at the turn of the 21st Century

Skydiver Felix Baumgartner becomes the first person to break the sound barrier without a vehicle in 2012

Liquid water is found on Mars.

The Gotthard Base Tunnel, the world's longest railway tunnel, was completed in 2016

Detection of gravitational waves by LIGO was confirmed in 2016

Oumuamua, the first known interstellar object, was identified in 2017

New Horizons takes the first close up image of a classical kuiper belt object in 2019 and provided the first close up image of classical Kuiper belt object in 2020

Chang'e 4 becomes the first object to land on the far side of the Moon in 2019

NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Christina Koch conducts the first all-female spacewalk outside of the ISS in 2019

And one of the greatest dreams of Albert Einstein and Stephan Hawkings came true when the Event Horizon Telescope took the first ever image of a black hole, at the core of galaxy Messier 87 in 2019

In 2020 Manned spaceflight resumes in the United States for the first time since 2011 

And this decade also gave us some of the amazing and delightful movies, web-series and games.

We witnessed

Christopher Nolan's INTERSTELLAR, The dark Knight rises, gravity, dunkirk etc.

We witnessed HARRY POTTER and the deathly hallows part 2, the final harry potter movie.

 And the marvel universe which started in 2010 with THE IRON MAN and continued its fantastic journey and in 2019 Marvel gave us Avengers: Endgame, breaking many box-office records, including becoming the highest-grossing movies of all time.

Web-series

Cobra kai, stranger things, the witchers, money heist, Kota factory, sacred games, mirzapur, hostel daze, little things etc.

Games like Minecraft, red dead redemption, call of duty, PUBG (PC and mobile), free fire, etc.

Gaming tech evolved real fast with some of the incredible feature like introduction to AI & Content Generation and Analytics, Rise of Hyper-reality, Cinematically realistic graphics; Interactive storylines; VR and AR technologies; Transparent game design; Crowd-funding to support games development; and Free-language interface.

The rise of social media

With this rise in social media the meme community rised as well, many companies have started using meme as a promotion ideas.

 We are Now officially in 2021- a new year, beginning of a new decade- with fresh memories and success stories, new opportunities, new goals or a chance to finish the old ones. 

But, new beginnings can also be a frightening prospect for some. If the last one year – or 10 – did not feel like you achieved a lot, don't worry because it is never too late. 

First impressions, great beginnings and the right first step, while wonderful, can also be terrifying.Even the slightest chance of failure can shatter a lot of people, and so, many of us choose to not take chances and to stick to 'what we know'. But this year, take a leap of faith!

If it doesn't work the first time, or the second, or even the third, trust me, it will work once. After all, once is all you need. Just take one step at a time, and remember, 2021 can be your year.
